You know your environment best and you know if something looks or sounds out of place. Have you witnessed any strange activity on the water such as: people transferring objects between boats in a remote area, yachts or boats in an unusual place or meeting at sea, people landing in a remote area, out of place flotation devices, if so, you may have witnessed an illegal activity and Border Watch may be interested in hearing about these activities. 

Border Watch, a program run by the Australian Government, Department of Immigration and Border Protection is designed to help protect Australia’s borders. The programme allows the community to help protect Australia’s border by reporting suspicious, unlawful or criminal behaviour.

Key partners of the program include industry members involved in the movement of people and goods across the Australian border. These include customs brokers, freight forwarders, shipping companies, warehouses and depots, airlines and transport companies. However, anyone, whether they’re part of a corporation or an individual can report to Border Watch.

And it doesn’t matter whether you’re located in capital cities, regional centres and remote areas, and operate in environments as varied as transport and cargo logistics, tourism operators and recreational clubs.
